Armelle Barelli, Regional Director, Inserm Midi-Pyrénées Limousin
Founded in 1964, the French National Institute of Health and Medical Research (Inserm) is a public scientific and technological institute which operates under the joint authority of the French Ministry of Health and French Ministry of Research.
As the only French public research institute to focus entirely on human health, in 2008 Inserm took on the responsibility for the strategic, scientific and operational coordination of biomedical research. This key role as coordinator comes naturally to Inserm thanks to the scientific quality of its teams and its ability to conduct translational research, from the laboratory to the patient’s bed.
Cancer Research Center of Toulouse
The CRCT is a public research institute affiliated as UMR1037 (Mixed unit) of Inserm, University Toulouse III-Paul Sabatier and ERL5294 by CNRS. It is composed by 18 research teams, services and facilities. The insitute is located on the “ Oncopole ” campus where academic, scientific, medical, clinical, technological and pharmaceutical research are interacting together.
288 people composed the CRCT : investigators, students, clinicians, technical and administrative staff. The Cancer research Center of Toulouse allows, in accordance to INSERM obejctives, a research from the bench to the bed of patients.

CBS is a cluster dedicated to innovation in the field of cancer. Since the end of 2013, the cluster is also working on the monitoring and the following of ageing people.The cluster was created to provide support for more than 200 companies in the Midi-Pyrénées and Limousin Regions, working in collaboration with research laboratories,cancer centers and hospitals, to develop innovative products for cancer treatment and care and place them on the international market. In addition, the Cancer-Bio-Santé Cluster targets a multidisciplinary approach and operates throughout the value chain covering the landscape of cancer and ageing, from prevention to follow up and home care including e-health technologies.

Toulouse Cancer Health Foundation
The "Foundation Toulouse Cancer Health" is a private "state approved" foundation created by Amgen, GlaxoSmithKline, Pierre Fabre, Siemens, and Total with the participation of the French National Research Agency (ANR).
The specific aim of Foundation is to promote the Toulouse - Oncopole University Institute of Cancer, by selecting public and private research partnerships, and by financing interdisciplinary research in life sciences in general with a special focus in oncology.

A university at the heart of the Midi-Pyre?ne?es region’s scientific community
Toulouse III – Paul Sabatier University has formed partnerships with research bodies (CNRS, INSERM, INRA, IRD) and other schools and universities within the Midi-Pyre?ne?es region. It is an active member of the education and research community. By coordinating their research strategies and education opportunities, the Midi-Pyre?ne?es scientific community has become a leading partner recognized throughout France, Europe and the world.
The French National Center for Scientific Research is a public organization under the responsibility of the Ministry of Education and Research. As the largest fundamental research organization in Europe, CNRS carried out research in all fields of knowledge, through its ten institutes. CNRS laboratories (or research units) are located throughout France, and employ a large body of tenured researchers, engineers, and support staff.
A campus dedicated to cancer care and innovative strategies in health. For the first time in Europe, the oncopole of toulouse, gathers researchers, academic and private laboratories, industries, startup, medical care center focusing on research and discovering innovative and individualized treatments.
The power of oncopole is the mutuallizatiom of talents, projects and platforms strengthening Toulouse commitment in scientifc innovation dedicated to research and care.
With a 1 billion euro investment, more than 1500 researchers, 1400 medical actors and more than 300.000 m2 of new buildings, Oncopole makes converge fundamental and clinical sciences, medical and human sciences, companies of health and innovation on an exceptional site of 220 hectares.
Oncomip is a non-profit organisation (French law 1901) directed by an Administrative Council, which sets up strategic actions. The decisions of the Administrative Council are relayed by an office, which manages the ongoing projects. The network coordinator sets up and manages the projects with the help, on the one hand, of a team of 15 permanent collaborators within Oncomip and, on the other hand, of 22 working groups associating 500 healthcare professionals from the region. Oncomip’s activities are funded mainly by grants from the Regional Health Agency or the National Institute of Cancer. The budget in 2014 is €1.5 million, 79% of this from a regional donation dedicated to the global functioning of the network. The members’ contribution represents a small part of the annual budget.
